John & Brianna-Insignia Steak House

New year, new website and my very first January wedding at the Insignia Steak House in New York. Brianna wore a beautiful wedding gown by Pronovias and the groom wore a smooth velvet jacket and bow tie. The day started at the Islandia Marriott Long Island, where the bride, her mom, and bridesmaids shared an enjoyable time listening to music, sipping mimosas and helping Brianna get ready for her day. Brianna was looking forward to a photo of her dress illuminated by the window, I captured a good image, but with a little extra editing a good picture became more, we added height to the windows and extended the white drapes on the sides, combined with her graceful pose we show off her gown with a black and white silhouette.

The first look is a popular way for a couple to see each other for the very first time on their day, with my camera ready to capture everything I took a sequence of pictures that captured every emotion- the groom’s expectation, the bride’s shyness, the surprise and delight on John’s face. After a couple of the requisite posed wedding photos, we have an image of the bride being led to the altar by her father. They stop briefly at the entrance, here they are framed by the doorway with daylight pouring in from behind, guests on the sides and the beautiful symmetry of the venue’s architecture, but my favorite part of this image is that I captured what John saw and now Brianna can see it too.

I’m getting a little wordy, so let’s skip all the fun, dancing, laughing, super cool father-daughter dance and the awesome song “so high,” by John Legend dedicated to John from Brianna all the way to the very end. Here we have an image of the restaurant’s impressive wine cellar that is not only part of the charm, but it provided a perfect opportunity for one of my favorite shots of the day. Brianna and John ensconced at the wine cellar stole a private moment and gave me the chance to play with the beautiful lighting and romantic atmosphere of this unique venue.

Thanks for reading my blog, I hope you enjoy it, have a great week!

Congratulations! And thank you, Brianna and John, for having me over to document your day, I wish you every happiness and many blessings.
